How Robert Lewandowski Became a Football Legend

Robert Lewandowski is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Bayern Munich and the Poland national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world and one of the greatest strikers of all time. He has won numerous awards and honors, including the FIFA Best Men’s Player in 2020 and the European Golden Shoe in 2021. 



Here are some facts about his life that you may not know:


He was born in Warsaw, Poland, on August 21, 1988, to a family of sports enthusiasts. His father was a judo champion and a football player, his mother was a volleyball player, and his sister is a volleyball coach.



He started his football career at MKS Varsovia Warsaw, where he played for seven years. He then moved to Delta Warsaw, where he became the top scorer of the Polish third and second divisions.


He joined Lech Poznan in 2008, where he won the Polish Cup and the Polish SuperCup. He scored 41 goals in 82 matches for the club.


He transferred to Borussia Dortmund in 2010, where he formed a lethal partnership with Mario Götze and Marco Reus. He won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal, and one DFL-Supercup with Dortmund. He also reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2013, where he scored four goals against Real Madrid in the semi-final.


He signed for Bayern Munich in 2014 on a free transfer, becoming the first player to score five goals in nine minutes in a Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg in 2015. He has won nine consecutive Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokals, two DFL-Supercups, two UEFA Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups, and two FIFA Club World Cups with Bayern. He is the third-highest scorer in Bundesliga history with 293 goals.


He made his debut for the Poland national team in 2008, scoring his first goal against San Marino. He is the captain and the all-time top scorer of Poland with 72 goals in 123 appearances. He led Poland to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Euro 2016, where he scored the fastest goal in the tournament’s history against Portugal.


He married Anna Lewandowska, a karate champion and fitness expert, in 2013. They have two daughters, Klara and Laura1. He is also a venture capitalist and has invested in several start-ups through Protos Venture Capital.


He is a devout Catholic and has a strong faith in God. He has a tattoo of the phrase “Gloria Victis”, which means “Glory to the Vanquished”, on his right arm. He also has a tattoo of his wife’s name on his left ring finger.
