 Jessica Parker Kennedy is a Canadian actress who has appeared in various television shows and films, such as The Secret Circle, Black Sails, The Flash, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. She is known for her versatility, charisma, and talent, as well as her unique heritage and personal life.

She was born on October 3, 1984, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to an Afro-Canadian father and a Jewish European mother of Italian and Russian descent.


She was raised Jewish, and she had a bat mitzvah when she was 13 years old.


She moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to pursue her acting career after studying theater arts at Mount Royal College in Calgary.


She made her acting debut in 2006 when she played Lucy the Elf in the ABC Family original movie Santa Baby.


She gained more recognition in 2011 when she joined the cast of The Secret Circle, a supernatural drama series based on the novels by L. J. Smith. She played Melissa Glaser, a teenage witch who is part of a coven.


In 2014, she landed a major role in the Starz original series Black Sails, a prequel to the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. She portrayed Max, a savvy and ambitious prostitute who becomes a powerful figure in the pirate world.


In 2017, she joined the CW’s Arrowverse, appearing primarily on the live-action series The Flash. Her character appeared throughout the fourth season and was eventually revealed as Nora West-Allen, the daughter of Barry Allen and Iris West from the future. She was promoted to series regular for the fifth season using the superhero name XS.


She is married to Israeli-American actor Ronen Rubinstein. They reside in Los Angeles. Parker Kennedy expressed support for him coming out as bisexual in 2021. They married in August 2022, with a Jewish wedding ceremony
