How To Make The Best Fried Chicken Wings!
Ingredients:
Chicken wings (about 2-3 pounds)
Vegetable oil (for frying)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
1. Prepare the chicken wings by cutting off the wing tips and separating them into two sections at the joint.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together to create an egg wash.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to about 350°F (175°C). Make sure you have enough oil to completely submerge the chicken wings.
5. Dip each chicken wing into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off. Then coat the wing in the flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres to the chicken. Set aside and repeat with the remaining wings.
6. Carefully place a few chicken wings into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the wings for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You can test the doneness by cutting into one of the wings to ensure the meat is no longer pink and the juices run clear.
7. Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon or tongs and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Repeat the frying process with the remaining wings.
8. Serve the fried chicken wings hot and enjoy! They can be served as is or with your favorite dipping sauces such as barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing.
Remember to exercise caution when working with hot oil, and always follow safety guidelines for frying. Enjoy your homemade fried chicken wings!
